This year, there are many different ways to celebrate Día de los Muertos. Find a free event at a museum, enjoy a foreign beer while watching Mexican wrestling or catch a family movie at the park.

Food and Movies in the Park
1332 I St., NW
Gather by Events DC is hosting a food-related movie hosted by the Mexican embassy. Go to Franklin Park above Saturday, October 15 for a viewing of the film Coco and traditional Día de los Muertos dishes. Information: 12 PM; Free.

Fun at the Port
101 District Square, SW
There are many different events taking place at the Port of the Port District above. Saturday, October 23. Enjoy street food offerings, live music, skull painting, and pours of Modelo in the Día de los Muertos beer garden. Hours: 2 PM to 5 PM; Free.

Quetzal Concert
Fourth St. and Independence Ave., SW
The National Museum of the American Indian and the National Museum of the American Latino are welcoming the Grammy award-winning wind band Quetzal for an upstairs concert. Saturday, October 29. Stop by the ofrenda located in the Potomac Atrium and make a paper doll to honor your loved ones. Hours: 2 PM to 3 PM; Free.

Day of Annapolis who died

Annapolis is hosting its fourth annual festival at the Saturday, October 29. There will be food, local vendors, entertainment, and plenty of opportunities for face painting and other Day of the Dead activities. Hours: 4 PM to 9 PM; Free.

Family Day at SAAM
Eighth and G Sts., NW
The Smithsonian American Art Museum offers a variety of themed, family-friendly exhibits Saturday, October 29. Sit down for face painting and crafts or professionally capture dance performances and live music. Hours: 11:30 PM to 3 PM; Free.

Mexican wrestling at Hook Hall
3400 Georgia Ave., NW
Check out the Día de los Muertos themed Lucha Libre festivities taking place all weekend at Hook Hall. up Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30enjoy live wrestling, cervezas from abroad, and music from DJs. Details: Saturday from 2 PM to 5 PM and 7 PM to 10 PM; Sunday from 2 PM to 5 PM; $25.

Art in the Park
4211 31st St., Mount Rainier
Learn the history behind the holiday with the local branch of Latino Outdoors on Sunday, October 30. Participate in natural crafts and special ceremonies with environmental teacher Mariana Baez Ponce. Hours: 2 PM to 3 PM; Free.

MOCA Arlington Picnic
3550 Wilson Blvd., Arlington
Grab a snack or enjoy chicken nuggets and tacos from the La Tingeria food truck upstairs Tuesday, November 1 in celebration of the evening. In addition, the museum will provide exhibitions and art projects for participants in the park. Hours: 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM; Free.

Memorial of the National Portrait Gallery
Eighth and G Sts., NW
Go to the National Portrait Gallery at Wednesday, November 2 for their annual festival. Start inside the museum with a music and dance jamboree, then go outside to watch the videos shown on the museum. Hours: 5 PM to 8:30 PM; Free.
