Baerbock assistant to join energy giant RWE-DW – 11/01/2022 | Whuff News

Long-time German minister Annalena Baerbock is set to leave her post to become chief executive of one of Germany’s biggest energy companies.

RWE firm confirmed the news, originally reported by Welt every day, Tuesday.

Titus Rebhann has run Baerbock’s office since 2018, when Baerbock first became leader of the Green Party.

RWE has been criticized for ending up

The Foreign Ministry emphasized that Rebhann has been on leave of absence since mid-October, and that Baerbock’s office “has no professional connection with RWE” and has nothing to do with his job change.

RWE, Germany’s biggest energy producer, has been criticized for making record profits amid an energy crisis that is driving many Germans into poverty.

It has also come under fire for continuing to mine brown coal, without investing in renewables.

According to WeltRebhann will be part of the team leading the “transformation” of the company.
