Canon Europe (https://www.Canon-Europe.com/) is pleased to announce the winner of this year’s Redline Photography Competition. Czech Republic self-taught hobbyist photographer Jiši Durdik wins a dirt bike competition with a stunning motion blur. Under the theme of this year’s ‘Split Second Story’, the footage brings the Czech Republic Motocross Championship to life in the fast-paced Pacov and perfectly captures the organized chaos that is the essential premise of the competition. In addition to several technical challenges such as positioning and lighting, Geech also had to protect his lens from mud, giving him only seconds to frame and frame the shot. Canon EOS R5 and RF 24-70mm F2.8L IS USM consultation with Canon Ambassador Laura El-Tantaoui.
Nature and sports shooter Jichy Durdik says: I am very happy to win this year’s competition. I was originally going to send a completely different photo, but after printing it, I had the urge to switch this one in at the last minute – and I’m glad I did! I’m really looking forward to using my new kit, especially the EOS R5. I shoot a lot of birds in flight, so the resolution and advanced focus system on this camera help me make great strides in my photography.
The winning photo was selected by industry experts and Canon representatives from a total of 14,121 submissions.
Lars Lindemann, Director of Photography at Germany’s Geo Magazine and a judge for this year’s competition, summed up the panel’s decision. “Gichi showed great insight in this image, which is a very important skill when shooting sports. The writing is also very interesting. At first you need to look twice before you get it. And then you can continue to look at the photo for a long time and still find something new in it.
Commenting on the breadth of submissions received, Susie Donaldson, ITCG European Marketing Director, Canon EMEA; “The short term response has been great. We had such diverse entries; It has captured everyone’s imagination. The winning image is about action, chaos, energy! There is so much that you could spend hours looking at it. Jiří managed to create a sense of passion as you felt right in the middle of it. It’s a perfect split-second story.”
