Potato Pancake Dinner: In St. John’s Lutheran Church, 28320 Waltz Rd., New Boston, from 4:30-7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4. $13 for adults; $5 for children 6-12; free for children 5 and under. Takeout is available.

Mental Illness Support Group: For family and friends of people with mental illness in the Downriver area meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Dearborn, 600 N. Brady , in Mitchell Hall. Another support group meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital’s Rehabilitation Bldg. on the 2nd floor, room 232. Wear a mask and enter the hospital at the main entrance for a COVID-19 check. Then follow the letter A on the wall signs and take the Allen electric to the 2nd floor. Salvation Army Weekly Event: Golden Agers Bingo, Monday, 10 a.m. to noon, $1. Downriver Music, Tuesdays, 4:30-5:30 p.m., preschool and older. Downriver Youth, Tuesdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m., preschool and older. Bible study down the river, Wednesdays, 5-6 pm, 16 and up. Community Meals at Southpoint Church: Free hot meals for those in need Tuesday nights 6:30-7:30 pm at Southpoint Church 5699 Fort St., Trenton.

Sunday School: St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church Youth, 2803 1st Street, Wyandotte, hosts Sunday school for first-k through fifth graders every Sunday at 10 a.m. Meets once a month the Youth for a village aid project and Bible lessons for grades. six to 12. Rockwood Pantry: Rockwood First Congregational Church, 22600 Mather Street Rockwood, hosts a pantry, which provides personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, used clothing and some food items. Everything is free. The store is open from 1-3 pm on the last Monday of each month. If that Monday is a holiday, the store will be open on the previous Monday. Downriver Women’s Social Group: Join other women at Rockwood First Congregational Church, 22600 Mather Street, on Thursdays, 10 am to 1 pm for conversation and friendship. Some light crafts to work on or board/card games to play. Some come late or leave early, some bring a bag of food and eat together. No charge; No religion is necessary. Holy Hours with Revelation and Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, and Blessing: Shared by the Knights of Columbus on the second Thursday of each month at 6 pm before the 7 pm Mass at Our Lady of the Scapular to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Tenth Street and Superior Blvd., Wyandotte. Everyone is invited, not just Knights.

Food Pantry: Every Thursday the DownRiver Church hosts a food pantry for an extra day for individuals and families living in the DownRiver Communities. The store is open every Thursday between the hours of 10 am and noon. Participants must bring their driver’s license or state-issued ID to attend. DownRiver Church Worship Service: Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Nearsightedness guidelines are in effect. A mask covering the mouth and nose is required for entry into the building. Our Lady of the Scapular Parish: Masses on Saturday at 5 pm (live streaming on Facebook and available on YouTube), Sunday at 9 am (Polish/English) and 11 am (English). Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday Masses at 7 p.m. Friday Mass is at 12 noon except for First Friday when it is at 7 pm. The church is located at 976 Pope John Paul II Ave., Wyandotte. Celebrate Recovery: Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step, Bible-based recovery program that helps people overcome pain, hang-ups and addictions; a Christ-centered program that uses the teachings of Jesus to help individuals overcome painful life problems and addictive behaviors in a safe, anonymous and private environment; The program is offered at 6 pm every Tuesday at Kirby Church, 2773 Will Carleton Road, Flat Rock; for more information, call 734-789-1260.

Christian Businessmen’s Association: Meets the third Monday of each month from noon to 1 pm at Ramsey’s, Trenton, 2747 Jefferson Ave. north of West Road. Recharge: First United Methodist Church of Flat Rock, 28400 Evergreen, hosts Recharge at 6:30 pm the first, second and fourth Wednesdays and includes songs and an uplifting message and a time of prayer; the evening is designed to help jump-start the whole week. For more information, 734-782-2565.

Service Hours: The Spirit of Truth Family Church holds its service Sunday at 11:30 am at 3744 Carleton-Rockwood Road, South Rockwood, and at 6:30 pm Sunday and Wednesday at 22144 North Huron River Drive, Rockwood.
