UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State’s 2022 Homecoming Week will be held October 16-22, culminating in the Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 21, and the Homecoming football game against Minnesota on Saturday, October 22.
Various events are planned throughout the week to celebrate Penn State’s pride and traditions and engage with alumni, students, faculty and staff. This year’s Homecoming grand marshal is Nittany Lion wrestling great David Taylor, and the honorees are Penn State President Emeritus Eric Barron and Molly Barron.

THON 5K — 8 a.m., Oct. 16, Bryce Jordan Center. The annual THON 5K sponsored by PNC will be held in person and virtually. Register today and join the Penn State and THON community in the fight against childhood cancer.
Allen Street Jam — 1 to 7 pm October 17, Allen Street. Stop by Allen Street between Beaver and College streets for a street fair featuring food, games, live music, shows and more.
From Past to Present — 11 am to 4 pm October 18, HUB-Robeson Center. Enter the HUB and be greeted by a living history museum. Learn the history behind some of Penn State and State College’s most famous institutions and see the festivities.
Grand Marshal Q&A — 6 to 7 pm October 18, Freeman Auditorium, HUB-Robeson Center. This Q&A-style event, held in collaboration with the Blue and White Society, is an opportunity for current students to ask 2022 Homecoming Grand Marshal and former Nittany Lion wrestler David Taylor .
FTG Talent Show — 7 p.m. Oct. 18, Schwab Auditorium. Homecoming will host a talent show to showcase organizations and individuals with great talent. Come out and be a part of it or watch the amazing performers in action.
Best of Penn State Carnival — 2 to 7 pm October 19, HUB Lawn. Come ride cars, play games, and have a great time.
Homecoming/Opulence Drag Show — 8:30 pm October 19, Alumni Hall, HUB-Robeson Center. Penn State Homecoming is excited to partner with the school group Opulence to put on its second annual homecoming show. Opulence is the primary attraction of Penn State. Come out for a fun night of shows.
Pride In Our Country Pep Rally – October 20, Memorial Staircase, HUB-Robeson Center. The pep rally celebrates the diversity of Penn State’s student population through performances by various cultural organizations. Come celebrate cultural diversity through dance, spoken word and community gatherings.
Alumni Ice Cream Social — 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 21, Hintz Family Alumni Center. The ice cream social is an event that all students, alumni and members of the Penn State community are welcome to attend. Penn State Berkey Creamery ice cream will be served along with music, entertainment by the Alumni Blue Band, and the only Homecoming fundraiser. This will help welcome seniors to campus for the weekend as Penn State builds pride leading up to the Punishment Termination. Registration is free but required, and registration will be accepted. Welcome Announcement – 6 pm October 21, Across Campus and Downtown State College. The theme of this year’s Welcome Message is “One Community, Forever a Home.” Celebrate one of Penn State’s oldest and most popular traditions to connect alumni, students, faculty and staff. Students in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communication will once again present the Homecoming show, allowing the event viewed by alumni around the world at homecoming.psu.edu.
Guard the Palace of Lions — 7:30 to 10 p.m. Oct. 21, Nittany Lion Shrine. Members of Penn State’s Army ROTC stand guard and protect the symbol of our excellence. The event will feature free food, including popcorn and funnel cakes, photo opportunities with the Nittany Lions, and lots of games and activities to win prizes and giveaways. . Live entertainment will be available throughout the night, including the Penn State Blue Band.
Home soccer game — 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22, Beaver Stadium. The Homecoming football game will feature the Penn State White Out and take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Come witness the black-and-pink S-Zone, “Generations of Greatness” shirts, and the presentation of the Court of Welcome, Grand Marshals, and much more.
