Visit Santa

Santa Claus will visit the Amana Colonies during these times: High Amana General Store on Friday, December 2, noon to 5, and Saturday, December 3, noon to 5 p.m.; by the fire on the porch of the Millwright Hotel, Amana, on Sunday, December 4, and Sunday, December 18, from 1 to 3 pm; at the Tannenbaum Forest at Festhalle in Amana, December 9 — 11.

The Forest is open from 11 am to 5 pm Friday, 11 am to 7 pm Saturday and 11 am to 4 pm Sunday. ) Santa’s reindeer can join him on Sunday, December 11, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Tannenbaum forest

The Tannenbaum Forest, located in the Festhalle Barn, Amana, will be open Friday through Sunday, Nov. 25 to December 18. The exhibition shows more than 70 live Christmas trees, all decorated by a different business, organization, group, or family. The entire building will be decorated for the season with many areas for photo opportunities. The 17 foot German Christmas pyramid will once again be the centerpiece. The holiday bonfire outside the church on Saturday November 26 will kick off the holiday season to the fullest.

Tannenbaum Forest is free to visit, however, a $3 donation is encouraged, with proceeds benefiting the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, Iowa City.

Santa will be returning to Tannenbaum Forest this year and visitors are invited to use the “Direct-to-Santa” mailbox in Tannenbaum Forest to ensure that wishes are delivered before Christmas.

Children’s Weekend December 9-11 Santa appears in Tannebaum Forest all weekend long. Santa will bring one of his reindeer to Amana on Saturday, December 11, 1 to 4 pm, weather permitting.

Don’t miss the cocoa and hot drink crawl this weekend, December 16 through the 18th. Pick up a passport at the center to visit and sample the city’s hot drinks. Return the passport and receive a limited edition Tannenbaum Forest Mug while supplies last. We’ll be celebrating holiday traditions all weekend long with special sweatpants discounts and a sweatpants show in the jungle.

Breakfast with Santa

The Iowa Valley Elementary PTO will host Breakfast With Santa from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 3, in the Iowa Valley Elementary cafeteria. Donations benefit the IV Elementary PTO.

Santa Claus Festival

American Legion Post 76, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 76 and Sons of the American Legion Squadron 76 will host their annual Santa Claus Festival Saturday, December 3, at the American Legion Hall. Service is from 4 to 7 pm, and the bar is open. Entrees are $10 and include turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, vegetables and a roll; Take-out, take-out or delivery within the city. A drawing will be held for the quilt raffle.

Jingle Round the Square

Jingle Around the Square will be held on Saturday, December 3, in Marengo. This year’s Christmas light parade will begin at 4:45 p.m. The route will begin at the intersection of Court Avenue and W. Lucas St. Marengo Avenue, and west on E. Main Street to stop at the North Pole (City Hall), where kids can grab their Jingle Bags and Jingle will kick off around the Square.

There will be car rides and Snow Globe Dancers at Leanne’s School of Dance at 5:15 and 6 p.m. Santa’s Party will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at American Legion Hall. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be welcoming the kids to Kinzenbaw Earthmoving and the Grinch will be hanging out at the old Phool’s Gold Bar.

North English

Christmas Light Contest

Friday, December 2, at 7 pm Santa’s helpers from the North English Community Club will be judging the North English Christmas light displays. There is no registration. Any house with a light in a North English town will be judged. Voting will take place on Saturday morning during Breakfast With Santa. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place and three honorable mentions. The winners will be announced on Saturday, December 3, on the North English Community Club Facebook page.

Breakfast with Santa

The North English Community Club will host Breakfast With Santa Saturday, Dec. 3, at Knoll Ridge Club House, North English. A free cookie and breakfast will be served from 8 to 10:30 a.m. with crafts to do after the meal and a four plant/decoration auction from 8 to 11 a.m. The lantern contest will be open for voting during the silent auction and Santa will a. make a face. Purchase Order

A holiday craft/retail show will be held on Saturday, December 3, in the EV High School gymnasium from 9 a.m. to to 3 p.m. Organizers expect more than 30 vendors this year, along with a bake sale and lunch. .


Big Concert

The Christmas in Williamsburg Grand Concert will be held at 3 pm Sunday, December 11, in the high school gymnasium.

Williamsburg Public Library

The Williamsburg Public Library will be open on the following holidays:

Children’s cookie decorating, Dec. 3 to 1 p.m. for ages 6-11 (worship space available)

Music Tuesdays Tuesdays: December 6, 13 and 20, 11 a.m. to noon.

Friends of the Williamsburg Library holiday silent auction will be held on December 10 during open hours.

Victor’s Old Time Christmas celebration is set for Saturday, December 10. Activities include:
