India, US to hold dialogue on clean energy cooperation on 7 Oct | Whuff News

New Delhi: Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri and US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm will hold a ministerial dialogue on the US-India Strategic Clean Energy Partnership (USISCEP) to be held on October 7.

The revised USISCEP was launched in line with the US-India Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden in April 2021.

The partnership aims to expand emerging clean energy technologies, and deploy technological solutions through five pillars — responsible oil and gas pillar, energy and energy conservation pillar, renewable energy pillar, sustainable growth pillar, emerging fuels and technologies.

Puri will lead the official and business in Washington DC and Houston, US, during the 6-11 October, a statement from the service of petroleum and natural gas.

During the visit, the minister will interact with World Bank officials on climate-resilient urban infrastructure. He will also participate in two executive roundtables with the USA India Business Council in Washington DC and the USA India Strategic Partnership Forum in Houston, as well as holding discussions with CEOs of US-based energy companies.

The visit also gains significance as the global energy market is going through a volatile phase amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict and India and other countries looking to diversify their energy sources and push for renewable energy.
