Leland hosts the holidays in December | Whuff News

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Town of Leland has scheduled some fun family events for the month of December.

Leland’s annual show of Lights will feature a free walking tour of Founders Park, at 113 Town Hall Drive, for six weeks, with a Grand Illumination to kick off the show at on the 3rd of December at 6 pm and will start in the evening every day. evening on January 3. Visitors can help turn on the lights, visit Santa, take a train ride on the Leland Express and enjoy local food trucks. Leland Fire/Rescue and the Leland Police Department will accept canned goods to donate to Brunswick Family Assistance.

Also on December 3, the Holiday Art Market will feature handmade gifts at the Leland Cultural Arts Center, 1212 Magnolia Village Way, from 10am to 3pm.

The LCAC is also hosting an Ugly Sweater Party on December 9th from 7 to 9 pm at the LCAC. Visitors can enter the ugly sweat contest for a chance to win prizes from local businesses and there will be live holiday entertainment and rock music from Holy Heat. Tickets are $15 and are available online or at the LCAC.

There will be a special movie in the Park featuring The Polar Express during Leland in Lights on December 10th at 6 pm Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs, family and friends, a picnic, or buy food. the First Bite food truck. After the movie, the Leland Express train will run from 7:30 to 8:00 pm

Special visits with Santa will be offered on December 17 at the LCAC for children with special needs to have the opportunity to enjoy a visit with Santa in a relaxing and relaxed environment. Registration is required due to limited space and is available online.
