Port Alberni residents of all ages enjoyed a Halloween spree at Beaver Creek this weekend.
Both sides of Beaver Creek Road at the Beaver Creek Community Hall were lined with cars on Saturday, October 29 with anxious ghosts and ghosts ready to have fun. The “Halloween Howl” of the hall included a walk in the haunted forest (using a new path created behind the hall), a cake walk, pictures and many different games. Families also enjoyed a free snack bag for each child and hotdogs available for purchase.
Volunteers also put together a Haunted Mill at McLean Mill National Historic Site on Saturday, with donations going to the Alberni Drug & Alcohol Prevention Services (ADAPS). As organizers were still counting donations, more than 1,000 people passed through the site on Saturday despite the rain to scare off some of the ghosts. Bites and garnishes filled the old mill.
